Wild&Co 2027 Adventure Racing Series. A New Direction.

The Wild&Co 2027 Adventure Racing Series is here, and this year we're making some important changes to how our events work together.

Over the years, we've developed a national calendar of adventure races, from our Explore events through to 24-hour racing, GeoQuest and the six-day Legend Expedition Race.

Until now, they've largely operated as individual events. From 2027, we're bringing them together into a more connected series, with a clear progression for teams wanting to take their racing further.

We've also been listening to feedback about how teams want to race, compete and be recognised, and we're making some changes to our categories, rankings and prizes.

A New Pathway Through The Series

Starting in 2027, we're introducing a new race-to-race prize structure, rewarding category winners with free entry to the next level of adventure racing.

24-Hour Racing To GeoQuest

Win your category at any Wild&Co 24-hour adventure race and your team will receive free entry to the next GeoQuest 48.

GeoQuest To Legend

Win your category at GeoQuest 48 and your team will receive free entry to the next Legend Expedition Race.

GeoQuest will become the grand final of our 24-hour series, offering a genuine 48-hour expedition experience and a natural stepping stone towards expedition-length racing.

With a new destination-based format, fully unsupported racing and a return to the June long weekend, GeoQuest is taking on an exciting new role within the Wild&Co calendar.

And what does the winner of Legend receive?

We're working on that!

Keeping Your Team Together

We understand that teams evolve. People move, work commitments change and sometimes your regular teammate simply can't make the next race.

To keep the prize system fair while allowing some flexibility, winning entries will be awarded to teams rather than individual competitors.

At least 50% of the original winning team must remain when redeeming the prize. A two-person team receives a complimentary two-person entry, while a four-person team receives a complimentary four-person entry.

Prizes are non-transferable to other teams and apply to the next edition of the relevant event only.

The intention is simple. Reward teams for their success, encourage them to take on the next challenge and keep the progression moving.

Kicking Things Off In 2026

To get the new series underway, we're extending the qualification system to our 2026 Hells Bells, Top Dog and Buckley's events.

Eligible category winners from these races will receive free entry to GeoQuest 2027, making them the first teams to qualify under the new series structure.

And with Buckley's still to come in December, there's one more opportunity to secure your place at GeoQuest before the new season begins.

Celebrating Male, Female And Mixed Teams

We've been listening, asking questions and watching how teams choose to race.

And one thing has become increasingly clear. Most people simply want to race with their crew, whether that's a Male, Female or Mixed team.

Adventure racing has traditionally placed considerable emphasis on Mixed teams as the premier category, particularly at the expedition level. But we recognise that there are outstanding teams and performances across all three categories, and we want to celebrate them equally.

From 2027, our focus will be on recognising the winners of the Male, Female and Mixed categories, with each carrying equal importance within the Wild&Co series.

Two-person and four-person teams will continue to compete together within these categories, with no separate team-size divisions for series prizes.

We'll continue to recognise overall placings and outright race winners, but category results will become the primary focus of our awards, recognition and new race-to-race prizes.

We want teams to compete in the category that suits them, race with the people they enjoy racing alongside and have their achievements recognised on equal terms.

Team Rankings And Hall Of Fame

We're also going to put a renewed focus on our Wild&Co team rankings and Hall of Fame.

Adventure racing has some remarkable teams, with long histories, great rivalries and achievements worth recognising. We want to do a better job of celebrating those teams and helping them build their own identity and reputation within the sport.

We'll be updating our historical Hall of Fame and team rankings in December, with a commitment to publishing updated rankings after every race throughout 2027.

Alongside our new category structure and race-to-race prizes, this will give teams more opportunities to follow their progress, compare performances and build a racing history across the Wild&Co series.

Whether you're competing for outright honours, building a team over several seasons or working your way towards your first 24-hour win, we want those achievements to be recognised.

Encouraging The Next Generation

We're also committed to encouraging more young teams into adventure racing.

We'll continue offering our 30% junior entry discount, with eligibility based on our existing Under-25 team classification.

From 2027, we're introducing two new awards to recognise outstanding junior teams across the Wild&Co series.

  • The highest-ranked junior team in the 24-hour series will receive free entry to the next GeoQuest.

  • The highest-ranked junior team at GeoQuest will receive free entry to the next Legend Expedition Race.

These awards will recognise younger teams developing their skills, competing regularly and taking on bigger challenges.

If we want adventure racing to thrive over the next 20 years, we need to make sure the next generation has opportunities to get involved.

The 2027 Adventure Racing Calendar

We've got another great year of racing ahead, with events across Queensland, New South Wales, the ACT region, Victoria and Western Australia.

Terra Nova 24 | New South Wales | 6–7 March

We're returning to the NSW South Coast, with the 2027 edition based at Swan Lake in the Shoalhaven. Coastal landscapes, waterways, bushland and challenging navigation make Terra Nova a fantastic start to the 24-hour season.

Legend Expedition Race | Western Australia | 3–10 April

Legend heads west for a six-day expedition through the landscapes of South West Western Australia, with race headquarters in Busselton.

Our longest race, and the ultimate challenge in the Wild&Co event progression.

GeoQuest 48 | Queensland | 12–14 June

GeoQuest begins a new chapter in Currumbin on the Gold Coast.

After 23 editions, we're introducing a fully unsupported, destination-based 48-hour format, allowing GeoQuest to explore new regions around Australia.

GeoQuest will become the grand final of the Wild&Co 24-hour series, with category winners progressing to Legend Expedition Race.

Hells Bells 24 | Queensland | 7–8 August

Australia's longest-running 24-hour adventure race returns to the Sunshine Coast. Expect the trademark Hells Bells combination of coastal and hinterland terrain, challenging navigation and a proper 24-hour adventure.

Top Dog 24 | ACT Region | 9–10 October

Top Dog returns to the Canberra region, delivering demanding navigation and tough racing through the varied landscapes surrounding the national capital.

Buckley's 24 | Victoria | 4–5 December

We finish the year in Victoria, where Buckley's continues its tradition of exploring some of the state's outstanding adventure racing terrain.

From the NSW coastline to the Victorian High Country, the Gold Coast hinterland and the remote landscapes of Western Australia, there's plenty of opportunity to challenge yourself in 2027.

And for those newer to adventure racing, our Explore Adventure Race Series will continue to offer accessible six-hour events, with opportunities to develop your navigation, teamwork and racing experience before stepping up to longer events.

2027 Series Launch Special. An Extra 10% Off!

To celebrate the launch of the 2027 series, we're offering an additional 10% off entries across all Wild&Co events currently open for registration.
