Wondering Dingoes claiming the win!
What an awesome day of adventure racing on the Gold Coast on Saturday.
After all the rain, Currumbin Creek turned on a beautiful morning — glassy water, great paddling and a course that mixed an urban trek around Currumbin, some fun and fast MTB trails and plenty of navigation decisions along the way.
It was a new sequence for Explore Gold Coast, mixing some classic checkpoints with plenty of new ones too.
There were bonus checkpoints to chase, route choices to make and even the option of a quick swim across the creek to save around a kilometre of running.
And despite the kayak leg having plenty of optional bonus checkpoints, pretty much everyone decided to do the whole thing anyway, even the Half Course teams — because the creek was just too good.
Congratulations to Wondering Dingoes, taking the overall win on the Full Course, and Adventure Before Ability, our Half Course winners.
It was an intimate field and a really fun day of racing.
Adventure racing isn't always about being the fastest. Sometimes it's about being the fastest in the right direction.
